Dealing with plastic bottles in our company

Climate change is a problem that isn’t going away! There’s never been a more important time to collectively think about how we as individuals, corporations, and businesses are affecting the planet. The urgency is undeniable! Humans have produced around 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic since the 1950s. In addition to this, that figure is predicted to rise to around 34 billion tonnes by 2050.

As a company, we feel the urgency to provide easy and accessible options to use less plastic, more recycled packaging, sustainable products, organic food, and any number of ways to make healthy choices. We are worrying about the constant use of plastic water bottles during our workday. We know that staying hydrated is crucial for us to function during the day. At the same time, the use of plastic water bottles has become a significant problem for the environment. 

Our company is focusing on creating as many eco-friendly products as possible. Such an attempt has led us to discuss this “plastic bottles issue” with our colleagues. This gave us the chance to consider some creative solutions in order for us to prevent environmental damage. With us moving to bigger offices with a lot of natural light, we made it our goal to start fresh by removing plastic bottles and using personalized mugs instead. It might be harder in practice and it may affect the increased movements in the hallways, but it can be a way for us to create some “eco-friendly” habits that our planet really needs.
