Increasing Public Data Transparency through digitalization

Brief

The main objective of this project was to develop an open procurement portal to increase transparency on public expenditures. This included scrapping, aggregating and structuring information on public contracts. 

Solution

This platform offers easy access to public data. The main features of the website include simplified navigation for use by the public and other parties. This solution makes it possible for the information to be easily and quickly processes and filtered, as well as to generate graphs of different formats, including bars, pie charts etc., which can then be used as frames in other websites or as photographs to be attached to research reports or various written articles. The platform was developed on the PHP Laravel framework and MySQL database combined with JavaScript code incorporating animations, and google charts for data visualization.
